Feb 8, 2017
The Peoria Regional Office of Education is proud to sponsor the 15th annual Lincoln Senior Awards Banquet, Thursday, February 16, 2017, at Barracks Cater Inn. The dinner will begin at 6:00 p.m. with ceremonies beginning at 6:30 p.m. Sixteen seniors from each of Peoria County’s High Schools will be recognized for exhibiting the traits of Abraham Lincoln.
In addition to honoring these outstanding seniors, the Lincoln Senior Committee has chosen to establish a new award for a community member that exhibits the traits of Abraham Lincoln. With the passing of Jim Cummings, attorney, Lincoln Scholar and Peoria Park Board Member, the committee wanted to honor one of its original members with a new annual award called the, “Jim Cummings Lincoln Award,”. This year’s award recipient is Judge Michael Mihm. Judge Mihm will be honored for his lifelong commitment to Peoria County.
