Appointment of Judges and Court Administration Personnel to Committees

Paul P. Gilfillan, Chief Circuit Judge of the Tenth Circuit, would like to announce the Supreme Court’s appointment of the following local judges and court administration personnel to the committees listed below:

Lisa Y. Wilson will serve on the Board of Trustees of the Illinois Judicial College.  The Illinois Judicial College, consisting of a Board of Trustees and six standing Committees, shall serve as the governance structure to provide education training and professional development programs to improve the skills, knowledge and competencies of the judges and employees of the Illinois Judicial Branch.  She is also appointed as the Illinois Judicial College Board of Trustees Liaison to the Committee on Probation Education.

Alicia N. Washington will serve on the Committee on Judicial Education to coordinate, direct and deliver continuing education and training for all Illinois judges, including the identification of emerging legal, sociological, cultural and technical issues that may impact decision making and court administration by Illinois Judges.  The Committee on Judicial Education shall recommend and develop continuing education and training opportunities for new and experienced Illinois Judges Mark E. Gilles, Katherine S. Gorman, Kim L. Kelley, Stephen A. Kouri and Alicia N. Washington have all been appointed by the Committee on Judicial Education as faculty to provide the educational training for the 2018 EdCon series for all Illinois Judges.

David A. Brown serves on the Administrative Office of Illinois Courts Criminal Benchbook editorial team.

Daniel Hunt, Director of Probation and Court Services in Peoria County will serve on the Illinois Judicial College Committee on Probation Education, which recommends and develops continuing education and training opportunities for new and experienced probation office.

Jodi M. Hoos will serve on the Judicial Conference Civil Justice Committee, to advise the Judicial Conference in matters affecting civil justice.  The Committee will review, analyze and examine new issues arising out of legislation and case law that impact civil law and procedures and any aspect of civil justice.

Stephen A. Kouri will serve on the Judicial Conference of Criminal Justice Committee, to advise the Judicial Conference in matters affecting criminal justice.  The Committee will review, analyze and examine new issues arising out of legislation and case law that impact criminal law and procedures and any aspect of criminal justice.

Michael P. McCuskey and Alicia N. Washington will serve on the Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism, which promotes greater integrity, professionalism and civility among Illinois lawyers and judges; to foster commitment to the elimination of bias and divisiveness with the legal and judicial systems; and to ensure those systems provide equitable, efficient and effective service to the citizens of Illinois.

Daniel Hunt, Director, Probation and Court Services will serve on the Supreme Court Probation Advisory Board, which advises the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts on policy matters and programming in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of Illinois’ Probation and court services departments; provides formal venue for communication, review, analysis and exchange of information; and identifies opportunities, resources and strategies to advance probation’s mission.
