The Peoria County Regional Office of Education announces that they are hosting the 3rd annual Peoria County Safety Day on July 30, 2018. The meeting of Peoria County school districts will be at Dunlap Valley Middle School with breakfast starting at 8:00 am and the meeting lasting until noon.
A top priority of Peoria County superintendents is the safety of the children and families they serve. The Peoria Regional Office of Education hosts this meeting in conjunction with the Peoria County Sheriff's Department, the Peoria Police Department, the Peoria County Health Department and the IL Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board. Lt. John Quast from the sheriff's department, Lt. Steve Roegge from the Peoria Police Department and Eric Arnold from the IL Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board have been a partner with all schools in the county by reviewing safety plans, offering best practices and conducting safety drills. They will be assisting the Regional Superintendent, Beth Crider, in presenting needed safety information for the coming school year. The press is welcome to attend and talk to participants about preparations for the coming school year. Legislators have been invited.
