Public Meetings Scheduled for Peoria County Road Referendum on November 6 Ballot

The Peoria County Board has scheduled four public meetings during October to educate voters on the sales tax referendum on the November 6, 2018 ballot. This referendum is specifically for the improvement of County-owned roads.

The referendum asks voters to authorize Peoria County to increase its share of sales tax by 1/2% to pay for road improvements in the Peoria County highway network. This sales tax increase would end after 12 years. The tax is on retail goods, excluding food, pharmaceuticals, and titled goods.

All meetings begin at 6 pm on the dates listed below:

Monday, October 8            Alpha Park Library, 3527 S Airport Rd, Bartonville

Tuesday, October 9            Northwoods Community Church, 10700 N Allen Rd, Peoria

Thursday, October 25        Chillicothe Public Library District, 430 N Bradley Ave, Chillicothe

Monday, October 29           St. Philomena’s Catholic Church, 1000 W Albany Ave, Peoria
