The City of Peoria and Peoria County will host a public meeting to present the proposed design option for the Willow Knolls Drive/Allen Road Intersection Reconstruction project. Several options were presented to the public at an April meeting. This meeting will reflect the results of data gathered through public input from the meeting and surveys from residents and business owners.
The Willow Knolls/ Allen Road Intersection Reconstruction project is led by the City of Peoria and Peoria County to improve one of the busiest intersections in the city. With over 32,000 vehicles
using the intersection per day, reconstruction is needed to improve safety and mobility.
“Peoria is growing and this intersection is one of the most important in our city, serving many businesses and residents. Reconstructing this intersection is a priority to improve transportation
in the area,” stated Bill Lewis, City Engineer for the City of Peoria. Construction is anticipated to begin in June 2018.
The public open house meeting will be held:
Wednesday, May 16, 2018
6:00 – 7:30 p.m.
Knights of Columbus
7403 N. Radnor Road
Peoria, IL 61615
The public meeting will be conducted in an open-house format and interested persons may attend anytime between 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
The purpose of the meeting is to present the preferred alternative (final intersection design). The public will also have an opportunity to view a continuous audiovisual presentation and exhibits.
The meeting will also provide information regarding the upcoming construction schedule, what to expect during construction and how to best stay informed of project updates throughout the
construction season. Project team members will be available to answer questions.
