Allied Agencies: Local Interagency Council
Available to all families involved in Early Intervention & Early Childhood.
The Local Interagency Council # 16 is an organization in which families, local service providers and interested community members meet to support a family centered system of services for children ages birth to 5. The Local Interagency Council is also known as LIC. The LIC serves Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford County.
What does the LIC do?
Child Find– Provides materials, coordinates and helps with screenings. The LIC also provides trainings on screening tools. The Local Interagency Council collaborates with other agencies and networks.
Provider Recruitment– Helps to locate new providers and retain current providers enrolled in Early Intervention. We also coordinate and host trainings and workshops for providers in areas needed. Examples of providers are Developmental Therapists, Speech and Language Pathologists, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Vision and Audiologists, and many others. Public Awareness- Provides informational materials about Early Intervention, Child and Family Connections, Local Interagency Council agencies involved in the LIC.
