Bel-Wood encourages participation, but it is never forced.

Yes. We offer both group and individual activities based on a resident's preference.

If Medicare and/or Medicaid coverage is needed, is Bel-Wood certified?
Yes. Bel-Wood is certified for both Medicare and Medicaid.
Will Bel-Wood help me with third-party (insurance) billing?
Yes. Bel-Wood office staff gladly assists families with insurance billing.
Are advance payments returned if the resident leaves Bel-Wood?
If outstanding balances are resolved, advance payments are returned.

Roommate matches are based on pre-screenings of potential residents and the interests of current residents.

Yes. Bel-Wood's dietitian plans special menus for residents on special diets.

Yes. Bel-Wood takes the likes and dislikes of each resident into consideration in menu planning.
Are snacks available?
Yes. Snacks are available throughout the day and evening.
Medical Care
Is a physician available in an emergency?
Absolutely--physicians are on call 24 hours every day.
Are personal physicians allowed?
Yes. The physician is required to visit the resident routinely.
How is regular medical attention assured?
A clinical coordinator and medical records technician track and review all physician visits.
How are families involved in treatment plans?
Families are invited to a quarterly care plan meeting and are encouraged to interact with the staff about the resident's condition.
Are other medical services available (i.e., dental, podiatry, optometry)?
Yes. Bel-Wood offers dental, podiatry and optometry services to its residents.
Does Bel-Wood report to personal physicians on residents' progress? To families?
Yes. Doctors and families are regularly informed of changes in a resident's condition.
Does Bel-Wood have a written description of residents' rights and responsibilities?

How are disputes, problems, or complaints with the quality of care settled?
In the event a concern arises, the resident or family member should inform Bel-Wood staff immediately so we may address the concern.

Yes. Bel-Wood's Resident Advisory Council and Family Advisory Council meet monthly.

No. We are in the process of implementing one.

Yes. A consultant pharmacist reviews medications on a monthly basis.
Does a licensed therapist administer physical therapy?
Yes. Bel-Wood is pleased to offer a professional therapy program with qualified therapists.
Is occupational or speech therapy available?
Yes. Bel-Wood offers occupational, speech and respiratory therapy.
Is a social worker available to assist residents and families?
Yes. Staff from Bel-Wood's social services department is available every day.
