Dog and Cat First Aid

The American Red Cross and the Humane Society have developed a special course to teach animal lovers how to help their pets in an emergency. Participants taking the course will learn how to administer CPR and rescue breathing, relieve choking, make a pet first aid kit, and identify and care for common ailments and emergencies. Cost for the course is $30. Call 672-2447 to register.

September is National Preparedness Month and with winter approaching it's a great time to prepare yourself and your family for emergencies such as ice storms and power outages, not to mention next year's tornado season.
