A Message from the Coroner
The Coroner is elected every four years on the presidential year to serve the citizens of Peoria County and anyone affected by a death that occurs in Peoria County coming under the Coroner’s jurisdiction. Currently, more than 2,700 deaths are reported annually. We average about seven newly reported deaths each day. It’s my statutory responsibility to determine the cause and manner of death for those deaths reportable to the Coroner as defined in state statute, share this information with you and others as appropriate, and issue the death certificate.
This website is intended to help you better understand the work of the Coroner, to share information with you, and to provide you with contact information.
I encourage you to contact me should you have questions, concerns, or feedback regarding the work of the Coroner. It’s our pleasure to be able to help in any way possible. You may contact me directly at either
(309)669-2000 or via email at email@example.com.
