Peoria County's Victims Services Coordinator will present "Personal Safety," a free public workshop from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2017, at ICC's North Campus. This workshop is offered through ICC's Adult Community Programs and is intended for anyone who doesn't want to become a victim. Sheriff's Office personnel will provide important information to help keep individuals and families safe. Participants will learn how to protect themselves against identity theft and how to avoid common scams. While the workshop is free, registration is recommended due to limited seating: visit www.icc.edu/acp (select "Know Your Community" from the catalog) or call 690-6900 to register.
The same registration information may also be used for the County's "Preparing for Long Term Care" workshop from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on February 16, 2017. During that workshop, Heddington Oaks personnel will discuss what to consider when planning long term care for you or a loved one. On March 2, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. take a tour of Peoria County Animal Protection Services (PCAPS) during "Protecting our Animals." Participants will learn about volunteer opportunities, animal control laws, and discuss such issues as overpopulation and inhumane care. After the presentation attendees will tour the animal shelter. You might even find a new best friend! Registration will be open soon for these two workshops.
