Learn How to Protect Yourself

May 30, 2017 (updated on May 30, 2017)

Peoria County Sheriff's Office will present "Protect Yourself," a free public workshop from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 6, at ICC's North Campus. This workshop is offered through ICC's Adult Community Programs and is intended for anyone who wants to learn how to protect themselves.

Sheriff's personnel will describe and demonstrate self-defense techniques that may save your life. Participants will have an opportunity to practice self-defense techniques in a controlled environment. While the workshop is free, registration is recommended due to limited seating: visit (select "Know Your Community" from the workshop catalog) or call 690-6900 to register.

The same registration information may also be used for the County's "Sustainability for the Entire Community" workshop from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. on July 11. During the workshop Peoria County's Recycling Educator will describe local government efforts to conserve resources and actions participants can take at home to improve our environment for future generations. In August, Peoria County will also offer a tour of the Coroner's Office and a workshop explaining how property taxes are determined.
