Job Description:

The Animal Control and Protective Services Director is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and administering the animal and rabies control and protection programs and the operation of the animal shelter, including management of staff. The position reports to the County Administrator

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Veterinary Science, or a related field from an accredited four year college or university; four to six years of progressively responsible related experience; or any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Four to six years supervisory experience is required. Must have a valid State Driver’s License.

Eligible candidates must hold a Euthanasia Technician Certificate, as required by the State of Illinois, or obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
