The County Administrator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Peoria County government, an organization that encompasses 27 departments - including nine elected offices - and approximately 1000 employees. The County's annual budget is $170 million.
The County Administrator reports to the County Board and has supervisory authority over the following departments: Animal Protection Services, Bel-Wood Nursing Home, County Administration, Emergency Management Agency, Facility and Grounds Operations, Finance Department, Highway Department, Information Technology Services, Planning & Zoning Department, Recycling and Resource Conservation, and the Supervisor of Assessment's Office.
Lori S. Curtis Luther began her tenure as Peoria County Administrator in August 2011. Prior to Peoria County, Lori has 15 years experience in progressively responsible management positions at the local government level, including serving as City Administrator for the City of Reedsburg, WI, and the City of Waukesha, WI. Lori earned her Master of Public Administration from the University of Kansas and her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Baker University.
Lori is a member of the National Association of County Administrators, the International City/County Manager's Association, Illinois City/County Management Association, and the Illinois Association of County Administrators. She is also a member of the Downtown Peoria Rotary Club.
