Family Justice Center: Statistics

Since the Peoria County Family Justice Center opened in October 2004, team members have initiated contact with 6925 survivors of domestic violence.

On average, the Family Justice Center has contact with over 1200 clients per year.

January 1, 2008-December 31, 2009:

Collectively, 126 defendants in felony domestic violence cases were sentenced to a total of 314.25 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections and 4.85 years (1771 days) in Peoria County Jail.

Collectively, 446 defendants in misdemeanor domestic violence cases were sentenced to a total of 71 years (25,915 days) in Peoria County Jail.

262 defendants were sentenced to complete domestic violence counseling.
