Honoring Our Veterans on Memorial Day

A memorial ceremony will be held at Peoria County's World Wars I & II Veterans Memorial in the Courthouse War Memorial Plaza at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 27. Steve Sonnemaker, Chair of the Peoria County Veteran's Memorial Fund, will speak at the ceremony.

Veterans, their family members, and the general public are invited to honor our veterans by participating in this ceremony.

The bridge located on Kickapoo Creek Road in Pottstown will remain closed due to damage sustained during recent flooding. The bridge is slated for replacement in July 2014.

Peoria County to Host Flood Recovery Informational Meeting

Peoria County residents who have been affected by the flooding are encouraged to attend an informational meeting on Monday, April 29 at 6:00 p.m. at Illinois Valley High School, 1300 Sycamore, Chillicothe. Representatives from EMA, Planning & Zoning, the Health Department, and County Administration will discuss flood safety and answer property owners' questions. Smithville Road

Beginning in the afternoon on Friday, April 26, Smithville Road will be closed to all traffic at the bridge located approximately 1.5 miles east of the Smithville Road and Trivoli Road intersection for bridge construction.
