Lead Hazard Removal Program Radio Ad
Peoria City/County Health Department has funding from the Peoria County Board for a Lead Hazard Removal Program. Guidelines for the program include lead paint removal from homes in Peoria County built prior to 1978, with a pregnant woman or a child under age 6 with lead levels. Examples of lead removal might include replacement of windows, doors, and/or exterior siding that contain lead.
Program Requirements for Occupied Properties:
- Peoria County residence
- Single family residence built prior to 1978
- Pregnant woman and/or child under age 6 with lead poisoning
- Resident(s) Income Eligible based on HUD guidelines
- Property Taxes current
- Historical, Flood Plain clearance
- Current Homeowners' Insurance
- Proof of Ownership (Recorded Deed)
- 3 year occupancy requirement following mitigation work
- Forgivable contract after 3 years
Rental Properties:
Rental property owners must meet all of the above requirements in addition to:
11.    15% owner match contribution
