Hours Of Operation

The Peoria City/County Health Department is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. except holidays. Some clinics have extended hours. Call individual programs for appointment or times.

Access to Care: Assistance with referrals to healthcare providers for pregnant women and/or families with children call 679-6601.
Administration: This Group can assist you with general information about our Department and em ploy ment information. Call 679-6101.
Adult Health Clinics: Screening, referral and information services are available. Call 679-6600 for an appointment.
Adult Immunizations: Immunizations are important for more than just children. Call 679-6050 to find out what immunization protection you need as an adult.
AIDS: HIV Antibody screening, counseling, and referral services are available. Call 679-6030 for screening.
All Kids: All Kids is the State of Illinois healthcare program for every Illinois child age 18 years or younger. Citizenship is not required. Affordable coverage is available for every income level. All Kids also includes a plan for eligible working people with children and a plan for eligible pregnant women. Call 679-6608.
Audiovisuals: Our Health Promotion & Epidemiology Group has a library of audiovisual materials available for free loan. Call 679-6131 for an AV Catalog.

Birth Certificates: Stop by our office for copies of birth certificates. Fees for services apply. Questions can be answered by calling 679-6032.
Birth Defects: Are you concerned about the health of your unborn baby? Education and referral for counseling available. Call 679-6080.
Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program: This screening program promotes the awareness and education of breast and cervical health. Uninsured women receive no-cost mammograms and Pap tests. For qualifying information, call 679-6611.
Brochures: Do you have questions about a particular health situation? Our pamphlet library contains hundreds of brochures on a wide array of health and safety topics. Call 679-6131 or come in and browse through our materials.

Case Management Services: Some families and individuals need assistance with services in addition to healthcare. Help with nutrition, transportation, and counseling is available for low income families with children. Call 679-6080 to find out what’s available.
Children’s Services: The Health Department has a variety of services for children including immunizations, lead screening and dental clinics. Call 679-6000.
Classroom Programs: For health education programs in your classroom, call 679-6131. Several health topics are available.

Dental: Call 679-6141 for appointments for financially challenged children and special needs adults. (Appointment required)
Foreign Travel Clinic: Information can be learned by calling 679-6050.
Immunizations: By appointment. Call 679-6050 for a schedule.
Lead Testing: Call 679-6068 for an appointment.
STD Clinic: STD Testing and Treatment & HIV Counselling, Testing, and Referral: Call 679-6030.
TB Skin Testing: Call 679-6600 for more information.

Communicable Diseases: For information on how various communicable diseases are spread and how to avoid transmission, call 679-6600.
Community Health & Prevention Services: A wide variety of Community Health & Prevention services are available including home visits, childhood immunizations and other clinics. Foreign travel and adult immunizations, home health care and more. Call 679-6000 for more information.
Community Health Education: For education presentations and service requests, call 679-6131.

Data: If you have a need for data regarding certain health conditions, call our Epidemiologist at 679-6635.
Death Certificates: Stop by our office for copies of death certificates. Fees for services apply. Questions can be answered by calling 679-6032.
Dental Services: We have clinics for financially challenged children and where we provide preventive and corrective care. Satellite clinics exist through out the community to allow us to better serve special audiences. Call 679-6141 to see how we can help you.

Emergency Preparedness: The Peoria City/County Health Department is working with other first responders in the community to be prepared for public health emergencies in the community. Call 679-6020 for more information.
Environmental Health: This Group can address issues regarding our food service inspection program, septic system and wells, lead exposure, West Nile Virus, and tanning facilities. Call 679-6161.

Fairs, Festivals & Community Celebrations (Food Licensing Requirements): If your organization is planning a special event where food will be provided to the community, you may be subject to licens ing and inspections by our Department. Call 679-6161 to find out how we can work together to keep your event a safe one.
Flu Shots: Available in the fall of the year, flu shots can make a difference in keeping you healthy. Call 679-6050 for more information.
Food Coupons: The WIC program provides food coupons and nutrition education to pregnant women and families with children up to five years of age. Call 679-6076 for information or appointment. *See Nondiscrimination statement at bottom of page.
Food Poisoning: If you have a question regarding food poisoning or to report a suspected case call 679-6161.
Food Program: For information about our food protection program, or our food service manager’s sanitation class, call 679-6161.
Food Service Inspections: The Environmental Health staff conducts inspections to identify and correct foodborne illness risks and provides education to workers on food safety. For more details call 679-6161.
Foodborne Illness: If you have a question regarding food poisoning or to report a suspected case call 679-6600.
Foreign Travel Clinic: Are you planning to travel abroad in the near future? Call 679-6056 to determine what immunizations and special instructions you need.

Health Education: Presentations and displays on various health topics for classrooms, groups, health fairs and more. Call 679-6131.
Healthbreak Program: Health presentations provided in the classroom. Programs available from Kindergarten through high school level. Call 679-6131 for more information.
HealthWorks of Illinois: 6 county network of health care providers and case management for children in the protective and temporary custody of Illinois Depart ment of Children and Family Services. Call 679-6601.
Healthy Moms/Healthy Kids: Visits in the home are provided to families with a pregnant woman and/or infant(s) 12 months of age and under. Types of assistance include assessment of needs, linking to physician and other referrals. Call 679-6080 for more information.
HIV Antibody Testing: for information, call 679-6030.
Home Visits: Visits by a nurse, social worker or other health care professional are available. Prenatal and newborn care, growth and development to age 1, assistance for HIV infected individuals, chronic disease management and more can be obtained by calling 679-6000.

Immunizations: Our immunization clinic is open year round with a variety of appointments. Call 679-6050 for information.

Inspections: Our Environmental Health Group conducts inspections to include, but not limited to, food service, water wells, sewage disposal and tanning salons. For more details call 679-6161.

Lead Exposure, Residential: Funding may be available to eliminate residential lead exposure. Call 679-6118 for more information on this program.
Lead Screening, Childhood: Lead screening for children (ages 6 mo. to 6 yrs.) is available through our Maternal/Child Health clinics. Children with high lead levels will receive environmental follow-up to assist in determining the source of the lead. Call 679-6068 for a screening appointment.
Library: A variety of health brochures and audiovisuals are available through our Health Education library. Call 679-6131 to learn more.

Pamphlet Library: We have a wide variety of pamphlets on a number of health topics. Call 679-6131 to see if we have what you’re looking for.
Pregnancy Testing: Think you might be pregnant? We offer pregnancy testing as part of a variety of services to keep you and your baby healthy. Call 679-6076 for more information or to make an appointment.

Septic System Information: Having problems with your septic system or would like to know how to start a new construction? Call 679-6161.
Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs): Confidential testing for sexually transmitted diseases is available through our STD Clinic. HIV testing is available also. Call 679-6030 for more information or for clinic times.
Speaker’s Bureau: The Health Department has experts on several health topics that are available to speak to your group. Call 679-6131 to determine if we can meet your program needs.

Tanning Facilities: Tanning facilities are subject to inspections and regulations. Call 679-6161 to find out more on keeping your tanning facility and operations safe.
Targeted Intensive Prenatal Case Management (TIPCM): TIPCM is an intensive case management program for pregnant women at highest risk of delivering premature or low birth weight babies. Pregnant women with selected medical, environmental and or social risk factors are identified through referrals or participation in other Health Department services. Contact is at least twice monthly providing support and information throughout the pregnancy. Call: 679-6080.
Teen Parent Services (TPS): TPS is a case management program for pregnant or parenting teens, both male and female. The goal of the program is to work with the teen to help them obtain a high school diploma or equivalent. Clients are referred or identified through WIC, HMHK, or a referral from the schools. Call 679-6080 for information.
Travel Shots: Are you planning to travel abroad in the near future? Call 679-6056 to determine what foreign travel shots/special instructions you need.
Tuberculosis Skin Testing: Call 679-6600 for information on TB.

Wells/Water Program: For information on well water safety, construction or repair of an existing well, or sealing an abandoned well, call 679-6161.
