Peoria County Sheriff’s Office: Posse

The Peoria County Sheriff's Office Auxiliary Police Unit is a group of specially trained volunteers that assist the Sheriff's Office during emergencies or special details. This unit is comprised of a 45 person Mobile Unit and a 20 person Mounted (known as the Sheriff's Posse) Unit. Personnel chosen for these Units have served the citizens of Peoria County for many years. Individuals meeting the selection criteria receive training which will prepare them for their assigned duties.
