Peoria County Sheriff's Office: Vehicle Impound

A Vehicle, Vehicle information, or Personal Property will not be released to anyone other than the registered owner.

To obtain a vehicle release, the vehicle owner or lien holder must appear in person, at the Peoria County Sheriff's Office and may be required to provide the following:  

  • Paid Tow Bill Receipt
  • Appropriate Impound Fee as set by County Ordinance
  • Valid Driver's License, or be accompanied by someone who has a valid Driver's License
  • If the vehicle owner does not have a Driver's License, an additional photo id is required
  • Proof of Valid Insurance

 Acceptable forms of payment are cash, money order or certified check.  No personal checks will be accepted. 

 Vehicle's will only be released during normal business hours of the Records Department.
