Worthless Check Program

Unlawfully issuing a bad check is a crime.  The Check Enforcement Program assists merchants in recovering losses from intentionally written bad checks.  The Program is FREE to all victims who accept a bad check in Peoria County.

State's Attorney's Office: Misdemeanor Prosecution

The Misdemeanor Division is responsible for prosecuting misdemeanor offenses committed by adults (18 years of age and older) in Peoria County. A misdemeanor offense is a crime for which a defendant may be sentenced to a term of incarceration for less than one year. Misdemeanor cases are presently heard in Courtroom 321.
