What We Do

The County Clerk provides a variety of services to the public including:

  • Calculating tax rates applied to property and collecting delinquent taxes
  • Maintains birth, death, marriage, and civil union records
  • Recording documents
  • Commissions for notaries
  • Maintaining assumed business filings
  • Maintaining statement of economic interest filings
  • Creating and maintaining County Board minutes
  • Maintaining County Code
  • Issuing Marriage and Civil Union Licenses
  • Issuing liquor licenses and raffle licenses
  • Maintain Contracts
  • Issuing New Address Numbers Outside the City of Peoria and Chillicothe

Public Records

Information with regard to obtaining the following should be emailed to the County Clerk or via phone at 309-672-6059.

Requests for public records under the Freedom of Information Act may be made in person during normal office hours, by email or by mail to Brooke Sommerville, Chief Deputy.

Fees

  • Landfill Number 3 Siting Application Documents
    • $0.50 per page if reproducible internally
    • Copies other than 8.5 by 14 inches: Actual cost of reproduction
  • Black and white copies
    • 8.5 by 11 and 8.5 by 14 inches: First 50 pages are free
    • $0.15 per page thereafter
  • Copies maintained in electronic format and emailed or sent on CD: free
  • Copies larger than 8.5 by 14 inches and color: Actual cost of reproduction
