The Victim and Witness Advocacy Unit at the Peoria County State's Attorney's Office is a grant-funded division. The unit includes two full-time Victim Advocates.

The Victim and Witness Advocacy Unit addresses and coordinates victim and witness issues. These issues range from informing victims and witnesses of court dates to finding and recommending various services available for victims. This unit may accompany victims and witnesses to court and explain the step-by-step process of criminal prosecution.
