Linda Daley brings an extensive record of public service and volunteerism to the District 11 Peoria County Board seat, to which she was appointed in August 2019.
Currently Chief of Staff to Illinois State Representative Ryan Spain – and legislative aide to Rep. David Leitch before that – Linda has gone the extra mile for constituents while developing a surpassing knowledge of government. Prior to that, she worked as a high school science teacher following graduation from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in biology.
She first distinguished herself in the public arena on the Peoria Schools Board of Education for 10 years, serving three terms as president. She took her talents to the Peoria Public Library Board from 2004 to 2013, helping to shepherd a building expansion referendum to passage and then, as chairman of its building committee, steering the construction to completion. She has been a member of the Peoria Riverfront Museum Board, the Illinois Central College Foundation Board, and the Greater Peoria YMCA Board. She worked to improve adolescent mental health through the local network of the Illinois Department of Human Services and was active on the Dean’s Community Council for the University of Illinois School of Medicine.
In addition to her work on the County Board, Linda currently is chairwoman of the Springdale Cemetery Authority.
Meanwhile, Linda also found time to raise a family. She is Mom to three adult children and grandmother to four.
