Rachael Parker was appointed as Peoria County Clerk on August 8, 2019. Previously, Rachael had been first elected to the County Board in November 2010, and with that win she had to resign her position of 3.5 years on the board for Peoria Public Schools. Rachael had served as the Economic Development Director for the City of Chillicothe and also runs a small business, Sweet Cakes by Rachael. With her prior involvements on various boards she understands the connection between government, business and education.
She has lived in the 5th County Board District of Peoria County since 1987 and wants to do whatever she can to help support residents and businesses in that district and the County as a whole. Rachael is and has been actively involved in the community with her volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters, Heart of Peoria Neighborhood Association, the Neighborhood Alliance, the Black Business Alliance, a former Advisory Board Member for the Salvation Army, a member of the Chillicothe Rotary and an active member of St. Paul Baptist Church. Rachael has two children and two grandchildren.
Rachael is a graduate of Bradley University, where she was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 1992. Rachael is proud to serve the residents of the County Board District 5 and Peoria County.
